About Course

This intermediate-level piano course is designed for learners aiming to enhance their fluency, control, and artistic expression. Aligned with Trinity and ABRSM Grades 3–5, it focuses on two-hand coordination, expressive phrasing, advanced finger techniques, and stylistic interpretation. Students explore a mix of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern genres, while also strengthening ear training, sight reading, and optional composition skills.

Each module is designed to gradually expand the learner’s technical foundation and musical confidence - whether for exams, recitals, or personal growth.

What You’ll Learn:

Technique Development

• Major & minor scales (2–4 octaves) hands together

• Arpeggios, broken chords, and inversions

• Finger independence and flexibility drills

• Hanón, Czerny, or Burgmüller etudes

Repertoire Building

• Baroque: Bach Inventions or Minuets

• Classical: Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven sonatinas

• Romantic: Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Burgmüller

• Contemporary/Jazz: Einaudi, Bartók, blues pieces

• Emphasis on dynamics, pedaling, memorization, and tone

Sight Reading & Theory

• Reading music in various keys and time signatures

• Recognizing intervals, modulations, cadences

• Understanding binary, ternary, and rondo forms

• Chord progressions, scales, and rhythmic reading

Aural & Ear Training

• Interval and triad recognition

• Singing back melodies and rhythmic dictation

• Identifying dynamic and tempo changes

• Basic chord progression playback

Improvisation & Composition (Optional)

• Melody creation over I–IV–V chords

• Improvisation in emotional tones (happy, sad, suspense)

• Writing 4–8 bar structured mini compositions

• Exploring ABA and theme & variation structures

Performance & Stage Skills

• Final refinement of 1–2 recital-ready pieces

• Stage presence and expressive delivery

• Simulated recital with feedback
