1 Introduce chess as a game and explore the chessboard

2 Chessboard Exploration

Look at the chessboard, talk about its colors and squares. Play a "find the square" game by calling out colors and finding them on the board.

3 Meet the Chess Friends

Introduce each chess piece using colorful and big pieces. Show how they move (like a king waves, a knight jumps, etc.) and let the kids imitate the movements.

4 Piece Dance

Dance and move like different chess pieces (Queen's twirl, Knight's jump, etc.) to remember their moves.

5 Move the Pieces

Allow the kids to move the pieces on the board while explaining how each one moves. Use simple movements (like straight lines for Rook, diagonal for Bishop) to demonstrate.

6 Capture Tag

Play a tag game where one piece (kid) captures others by touching them, mimicking capturing in chess.

7 Rule of Kings and Queens

Explain the importance of protecting the kings and queens (like protecting a treasure) and introduce simple rules like "Don't let your King get caught."

8 Puzzle Time

Engage in simple puzzles, like arranging pieces in a line or forming patterns on the board, encouraging kids to solve them.
