About Course

A must for those who want to get initiated in classical Indian dance. Ours is a live training from expert dancers. 

More than just a dance form, Bharatanatyam helps train motor skills. Patient practice and repetitive movements all instils discipline and strength in a child. All the more reason to consider starting your child, boy or girl, on this art form.

In our live Bharatanatyam for Beginners course, your dance teacher will take you through all the ‘adavus’ preparing them to perform a dance sequence. Along with core exercises to train the body, they will also learn to coordinate and synchronize hand and feet movements.

Each session will be an hour and fifteen minutes long and paced once or twice a week. Find below details on each module.

  • Adavus are like the building blocks of a dance sequence. Learning and practicing the adavus prepares the child to perform the dance sequence. Core exercises will help the student and allow their body to function properly. Core exercises train the muscles, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together. The student will attain a better balance and stability while dancing

  • The beginner level course will be an effort at getting students well versed with the Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam. The students will be educated and given awareness about the origins of Bharatanatyam. Audio files will be provided for a better practice. The course will teach the students all the Adavus and mudras. In completion to the beginner level the student will be thorough with the important Adavus, foot movements that combine to form a dance sequence.
