About Course

This beginner-level keyboard course is designed for children aged 6–12 who are new to music. Over a series of engaging live sessions, students learn to identify notes, play scales, understand rhythm, and perform simple melodies using both hands. Lessons include exercises, music theory basics, and interactive play-alongs. The course focuses on developing finger strength, timing, and musical awareness while encouraging creativity and a love for music.

What You’ll Learn:

Keyboard Basics

• Parts of the keyboard and posture

• Finger numbers and correct hand position

• Introduction to the musical alphabet (A–G)

• Finding and playing Middle C

Notes, Rhythm & Timing

• Reading and playing notes on the staff (treble and bass clef)

• Understanding and clapping note values: whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes

• Counting beats and using a metronome

• Playing simple right-hand melodies

Left Hand & Coordination

• Playing simple bass lines with the left hand

• Introduction to two-hand coordination

• Beginner songs using both hands

Scales, Chords & Music Theory

• C major scale and finger patterns

• Playing major chords: C, F, G

• Intro to intervals and harmony

• Understanding tempo, dynamics, and articulation

Songs & Performance Prep
